Our aim is to answer: What are the average efficiency levels of the Argentine labor courts and how do they behave individually with respect to the average? Which are the determinants of the relative efficiency levels of those courts? Are there opportunities to introduce incentives which increase the efficiency of the courts? In doing so we estimate a Data Envelopment Analysis efficiency frontier, and in a second stage we analyze the efficiency scores drivers and the Judiciary career incentives.

La Argentina no es representativa ni federal por dos anomalías constitucionales: se viola la representación del pueblo porque las provincias con la mayoría de habitantes (Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza y Santa Fe) tienen una minoría de representantes en la Cámara de Diputados; la coparticipación de impuestos no se basa en criterios objetivos, equitativos y solidarios, por lo que la provincia de Buenos Aires es pisoteada (recibió un tercio de los recursos por habitante de otras provincias en 2016). Ambas son legados de gobiernos de facto, conservadas por un Congreso no representativo.

Objetivo. Estimar el beneficio que reportaría la reducción en la cantidad de casos de diarrea generada por la mejora de las condiciones de agua, saneamiento e higiene de la población bajo estudio (25 partidos en Buenos Aires). Métodos. La estimación se realiza en términos de ahorro de años de vida ajustados por discapacidad, a los cuales se les asigna un valor monetario. Sobre esta base se hace un análisis probabilístico considerando la incertidumbre de 15 variables. También se considera la posible subestimación de los datos de salud. Resultados.

Does providing information improve citizens’ perception of government transparency? Does all information matter the same for shaping perceptions about the government? This article addresses these questions in the context of an online randomized survey experiment conducted in Argentina. Results show that providing information to citizens matters for shaping perceptions about transparency, and the content of that information matters for affecting the evaluation people make about the government.

Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to build performance indicators to assess efficiency for First Instance Federal Courts in Argentina and study the determinants of efficiency in Criminal Instruction Courts.

Design/methodology/approach
The efficiency scores were determined using data envelopment analysis with a database for the period 2006–2010. Then, a search of the efficiency determinants in the Criminal Instruction Courts was performed. Four output-oriented models were developed based on various explanatory and environmental variables.
